Callionymus stigmatopareius sp. nov. is described and compared with allied species of the genus Callionymus. Features which distinguish it from similar species are as follows:
| 1. | 1the combination of 8 rays in the 2nd dorsal fin and 7 rays in the anal fin with preopercular spine formula | ||||
| 2. | 2unusually long anal fin rays; | ||||
| 3. | 3colour markings. | ||||
