Tapinillus longipes (Taczanowski), a web-building lynx spider from the American tropics (Araneae: Oxyopidae)

Summary

For the first time a member of the spider family Oxyopidae, Tapinillus longipes (Taczanowski), is reported to utilize a web for prey capture under natural conditions. It is suggested that this behaviour is primitive for the family Oxyopidae.
