Summary

A description is given of a new leucocytozoid, Leucocytozoon balmorali sp. nov. from Malaconotidae in Zambia. The parasite is characterized by both round and elongate gametocytes and appears to have a well established host-parasite relationship particularly in Dryoscopus cubla in which the prevalence was 100%.
