Clarification and amplification of the genus Paracyproidea (Amphipoda: Amphilochidae), including a description of a new species

Abstract

The type species of the amphilochid amphipod genus Paracyproidea, P. lineata (Haswell 1880), is redescribed using material from its type locality (Port Jackson, Australia) and neotypes designated. A new taxon, P. dixoni n.sp. is described from Bali, together with limited observations on its natural history.
