Abstract
Information on Guttiferae-feeding within the Psylloidea is summarized. The taxonomy of the Calophyllum-feeding genus Leptynoptera is revised and its sister-group relationship within the Triozidae is discussed. Eleven species are included in the genus and eight of these, L. dumoga, L. honiara, L. lanka, L. manusela, L. nigra, L. propinqua, L. rosea and L. zanzibarensis, are described as new; a key is provided for their identification. The status and composition of the proposed sister-group of Leptynoptera, the Trioza obsoleta species-group, are discussed. Two new combinations, Pseudotrioza grandis (Crawford) (from Megatrioza) and Leptynoptera diptera (Crawford) (from Trioza) are proposed. Trioza subnigra Kandasamy is synonymized with T. obsoleta (Buckton).
