Pages 57-68 | Accepted 02 Feb 1996, Published online: 17 Feb 2007

Abstract

Two new genera and species of siphonostomatoid copepods, family Coralliomyzontidae, associated with the fungiid coral Parahalomitra are described: Tondua tholincola from P. irregularis in New Caledonia and Temanus halmaherensis from P. robusta at Karang Mie, eastern Halmahera, in the Moluccas. In both species, leg 5 has a free segment bearing three setae. In Tondua tholincola, leg 4 is biramous with two-segmented rami; in Temanus halmaherensis, leg 4 has a three-segmented exopod, but lacks an endopod.
