Purification and Chemical Sensitization of Photographic Gelatin

Pages 16-22 | Received 30 Sep 1957, Published online: 22 Jul 2016

Abstract

A photographic method for the evaluation of methods of producing inert gelatins is described. Of the several methods studied, treatment with peroxyacetic acid was most effective. A gelatin treated in this way was partially restored to its original photographic characteristics by the addition of both sodium thiosulphate and sodium sulphite.
