The Estimation of Adenine In Gelatin with reference to Restraining Properties

Abstract

A colourimetri method is given for the estimation of adenine, a nucleic acid component, in gelatin. In general, hide gelatins are found to contain more adenine than bone gelatins, and the amounts present is sufficient to account for restraining properties in the former.
