Stability of Dyes of Colour Photographic Materials

Pages 172-179 | Received 28 Nov 1960, Published online: 23 Jul 2016

Abstract

Factors affecting stability of black and white materials and means of controlling them have been known for many years. Factors affecting stability of colour materials require new and more detailed approach due to complex nature of dye images and of their formation. Artificial fading and incubation tests enable the manufacturers of colour materials to pinpoint and to control such effects. Some means of improving the permanency of colour photographic dye images are discussed and illustrated.
