Abstract
The results of Polish research over the last few years, including some hitherto unpublished work on graininess and granularity are reviewed. These cover studies on the visual aspects of granular patterns of the enlarged images of photographic deposits, improved methods of visual graininess estimation, the preparation of a graininess standard and the establishment of a quality coefficient embracing the speed and the graininess of photographic emulsions.
