The Nature of the Development Centres in Silver Halide Emulsion Microcrystals^*

Abstract

On the basis of (a) experimental data on the evolution of impurity centres during ripening and photolysis, and (b) an examination of a type of electrochemical reduction of silver during development, the conditions necessary to ensure an increased rate of development of the microcrystals comprising the latent image are derived.
