Fundamental Mechanisms in Silver Halide Precipitation

Abstract

The four basic processes of silver halide crystallization are nucleation, growth, Ostwald ripening, and recrystallization. These processes were investigated to determine what were the significant variables in each case, particularly for experimental conditions similar to those used in precipitating photographic emulsions.
