Investigations into Reactions of Colour Development and those of Developer Oxidation Products by the Polarographic Method

Abstract

The oxidation of substituted paraphenylenediamines has been studied polarographically over the pH range 7.2–0.5. Over this range oxidation by a two-electron process is indicated direct to the diimine. although transient formation of a semiquinone may occur at the lower end of this pH range.
