Abstract

Adsorption isotherms for normal and modified gelatin on silver bromide at various pH were obtained. The amount of gelatin adsorbed is in relation with the pH, but the variations appear to be determined not only by electrostatic interactions, but also by functional active groups that play an important part in the adsorption process of gelatin. The importance of - NH3 and -COOH groups is so demonstrated.
