Abstract
A simple but precise method of checking the flatness of the film in a 126 cartridge, using a ISO line halftone screen mounted in a standard cartridge camera body, is described. The apparatus is inexpensive, compact, convenient and quick to operate and gives an instantaneous permanent record which is, in effect, a visual contour map of the film surface over the whole frame. The deviation of the film surface from a true plane can be quickly and precisely estimated and studied in detail as and when required.
