Abstract

Dismutation of a low-valency metal compound into a compound of higher valency and the metal can serve as a development reaction to amplify the effect of light on a wide range of photosensitive materials. Developable photographic systems based on dismutation have been devised for cuprous oxide, the monohalides of indium, mercurous halides and ’bismuth subchloride”.
