Abstract
The photoinduced modification of the solubility of some photosensitive compounds can be used for the preparation of presensitized printing plates.
We will consider several classes of compounds which can be used to inform presensitized printing plates.
A positively working offset system can be prepared by starting on the one hand from sulphenylcarboxylates and on the other hand from bis (arylsulphonyl)-diazomethane- and aryl-sulphonylarylcarbonyldiazomethane derivatives.
It has been observed that on exposure of 1-methyl-3-diazo oxindole a negatively working system is obtained.
Providing the structure is adapted (nature of the substituents) certain classes of light-sensitive compounds (tetra- substituted diazocyclopentadienes and organic compounds containing a carbon atom which is substituted with 3 negative groups) can be applied for the development of a positively or a negatively working offset system respectively.
