Abstract

For the first time the formation of AgCl crystals consisting of rhombic dodecahedra is shown in a photographic emulsion. Different substances, selected for their influence on the structuredness of water have been found to modify the usual growth directions of AgCl crystals. The structure of the water that promotes the {110} and {111} habits of AgCI also enhances the monomer formation of methylene blue in aqueous solutions. Adsorption of methylene blue on crystals with a {110} habit occurs 10 the monomeric form.
