Abstract

The powerful technique of holographic interferometry is applied to measuring rale of sublimation or dissolution enhanced by fluid flow as a soild/fluid Interface. The change In thickness of a mass-transferring surface coating after exposure to the gas or liquid stream is recorded Interferometacally. by supenmposoing holograms of its initial and final states. The interferograms obtalned allow the entire pattern of configurational change In the surface to be revealed panoramically. xamples are given of apphcations to vanous flow situations.
