Aminohydroquinone as a Developer

Pages 57-60 | Received 28 Oct 1975, Published online: 22 Jul 2016

Abstract

Aminohydroquinone is broadly similar to hydroquinone in that it dissociates with pKa values of 10.0 and 11.35, but it is an active developer without the induction period shown by hydroquinone. It is comparable with metol in activity and induction-period characteristics but shows no super-additive effect with hydroquinone. Its general character is like that of a less stable Amidol.
