A Fundamentally New Colour Imaging Technology for Instant PhotographyFootnote

Abstract

The Kodak instant print film is based on a fundamentally new colour-imaging technology. The imaging chemistry involves new types of compounds that release dyes for diffusion to a viewing region of the picture unit as a conse-quence of development of a new type of relatively high speed direct reversal emulsion. The chemical structures of the dyes were selected as a result of theoretical studies. The colour pictures produced by them feature a high level of colour fidelity.
