The Use of Models for Optimizing Image QualityFootnote

Abstract

Computer optimization of any system implies that its relevant properties can be expressed in terms of the same set of basic variables.

Existing models describing various aspects of image quality are discussed from this standpoint.

It appears that the above condition is not generally met.

Résumé

L’optimisation par ordinateur de n’importe quel système implique que les propriétés pertinentes de ce dernier peuvent être exprimées sous forme de fonctions du même ensemble de variables primaries.

A partir de ce point de vue, on discute des modèles existants qui décrivent différents aspects de la qualité d’image.

Il parait qu’en général la condition susdite n’est pas remplie.

Zusammenfassung

Die Computer-Optimierung eines beliebigen Systems impliziert, dass dessen relevanten Eigenschaften sich in Form einere Funktion desselben Satzes von Grundvariabelen ausdrücken lassen.

Gegenwärtige, Modelle, welche die verschiedenen Aspekte der Bild- qüte beschreiben, werden von diesem Standpunkt aus besprochen.

Es zeight sich, dass die obige Bedingung nicht allgemein erfüllt ist.

L’ottimizzazione computerizzata di qualsiasi sistema implica la possibilità di espimerne le proprietà relative in termini della stessa serie di variabili fondamentali.

Vengono trattati da questo punto di vista i modelli esistenti che descrivono diversi aspetti della qualità dell’ immagine.

Sembra che la condizione suddetta non sia in generale soddisfatta.
