Recording Characteristics in Magnetography by Optical WritingFootnote

Abstract

Optical writing for magnetography is carried out by projecting the images composed of dots or lines in a reverse magnetic field on the erased or unidirectionally premagnetized sample. The written image is developed by the attraction of magnetic toners. Effects of writing temperature, bias magnetic field and initial premagnetization upon developing characteristics such as mass of attracted toners, line width and resolution are described. The samples used are Cr02 as these are considered the most suitable for thermomagnetography and Co-doped y-Fe203 to bear comparison with it.
