Study on Latent Image Stability: Latensifying Effect of Temperature

Abstract

Two orthochromatic (coarse-grained and fine-grained) films were exposed to light at two different exposure times (10 min and I ms) and aged at different temperatures before development.

The averaged relative density values obtained after surface and internal development show that the L.l. can undergo fading and intensification; both are accelerated by increased ageing temperature.

Chemical sensitization and latent sub-image formation are the conditions favouring the marked L.l. growth (intensified by temperature) when the fine-grained film is exposed to 1 ms.
