Abstract
The contribution is concerned with the exposure tolerances when plate responses related to micro-line (control) scales are evaluated and specified. Whilst considering the permitted latitude in size of plate images, it deals with the exposure tolerance ranges. It demonstrates the relevance of the photo-speeds of the plate/plate coatings. The use of percentage plate exposure tolerance when imaging micro-lines is shown to be of doubtful value, and the adoption of a 6 micron range of image latitude is suggested.
