Abstract
Photography and electronic imaging from satellites in earth orbit are gradually providing a comprehensive view of the land and oceans to provide specialist photointerpreters from many scientific disciplines with basic data to aid in a better understanding of the environment. Photography from spacecraft requires a systematic approach to the design of equipment and type of orbit adopted.
