ABSTRACT
A comparative study has been made of reflection holograms developed on Agfa Gevaert 8E75 and 10E75 materials using what are essentially favourable and unfavourable development techniques. It is shown that, despite the theoretical unsuitability of 10E75 for the serious recording of Lippmann holograms, it nonetheless produces a useful image when processed into colloidally developed silver using the Valenta developer. By comparison, conventional processing with the so-called ‘pyrochrome’ process only works with the theoretically favourable 8E75 HD material.
