Some Meanderings Through Holography

ABSTRACT

This paper presents some of the personal enthusiasms of the writer based upon recent published ideas and conversations at the frontiers of holography. Worldwide, the sophistication of practical ideas has been enhanced by the ability of workers to achieve very high diffraction efficiencies using the conventional recording media. Areas of exploration previously deemed fruitless take on new importance as we relax the demands for absolute perfection and perfect diffraction efficiency. We look at a handful of ideas, some established some to be developed. With the hindsight of experience, the future looks very exciting.
