Lattice Rotations in Cubical Silver Halide Crystals

Pages 18-21 | Received 12 Oct 1987, Published online: 21 Jul 2016

Abstract

A discussion is given of a possible structure of the contact plane between two cubic silver bromide grains that are rotated relatively about all axis normal to their common (001) plane. The observed relative rotations agree with the predictions of a coincidence site lattice model, but it is suggested that the actual structure of the boundary consists of an array of secondary dislocations.
