Abstract
New photopolymer systems are described consisting of multifunctional epoxide monomers, photoinitiators and polymeric binders containing carboxyl groups. The photoinitiators contain two components: sensitizer (light absorbing component) and diaryliodonium salt. The exposed areas become insoluble in weak alkaline aqueous developer. The network formation process has been measured by the insoluble fraction (gel fraction) of the cured photopolymer system as a function of the exposure energy, i.e. by the characteristic curve. The two main parameters of these curves, gel point exposure energy and contrast factor, depend on the composition of the system. Mainly, the ingredients of the photoinitiator and their concentration influence the network formation process.
