Abstract

This paper is a mathematical “walk thorough” conventional photography starting with the emulsion and the exposure, through latent-image formation, processing and drying, and on to the properties of the developed image. These various topics will he addressed in terms of differential equations, both linear and nonlinear, and statistics.
