Abstract
Silver bromide crystals deposited on graphite (HOPG) were investigated with a scanning tunnelling microscope under ambient conditions. Different shapes and sizes of microcrystals, including octahedral forms and tabular grains, were observed and examined. With higher magnification atomically resolved images of the surfaces were obtained and the lattice constants determined. In addition, the AgBr crystals were examined by a scanning electron microscope.
