Summary
By means of a questionnaire addressed to 776 Senegalese secondary school students belonging to the Wolof ethnic group an evaluation was attempted of the importance given to dreams, their frequency and recall, their nature, and the persons involved in them. The main findings were: 1. A great deal of importance was ascribed to dreams (31% of Ss believed that dreams could predict reality). 2. Girls recalled dreams more often than boys. 3. Kindness appeared more frequently in Ss' dreams than hatred. 4. The dreams were rather realistic, especially those of girls. 5. Dreams of success or failure in exams were most important.
