Summary
Data from a questionnaire administered to 222 women student teachers of the Faculty of Education, University of Ife, Nigeria, indicated that a significantly greater proportion of the student teachers aspired to pursue master's degree than doctor's degrees. Married and unmarried women differed in their aspiration to be principals of high schools but showed no difference in their aspiration to be vice-principals or special-grade principals of high schools. As the level of professional union organization increased from a state to a national body, married and unmarried subjects were less likely to differ in their aspiration to be leaders of the union.
