Factors Influencing Employee Association Members' Votes for Unionization

Pages 621-628 | Received 06 Feb 1995, Published online: 02 Jul 2010

Abstract

Unionization votes of 133 members of an employee association at a large, midwestem, American university were examined. General beliefs, specific beliefs, normative pressures (co-workers, family, and close friends), and dissatisfaction with the employee association influenced votes for unionization. Job satisfaction, age, race, and gender did not influence votes for unionization.
