Abstract
For a double sampling plan for attributes, with 100 percent inspection of rejected lots, with given rejection numbers, incoming quality level, lot size and probability Pa of acceptance of a lot of quality p, the minimum value of the average total inspection per lot, the ATI, is obtained by taking for the first sample size the smallest value for which the probability of acceptance is less than Pa. It follows from this that, for a single point on the OC curve, the absolute minimum for the ATI can be found by choosing 0 and 1 as the two acceptance numbers.
