Abstract
In this, the first of a set of three papers devoted to a study of the effects of inaccuracies of inspection sampling for attributes, a few basic distributions are derived, and some quite extensive tables provided. These distributions will be used in the later papers, to investigate effects of faulty inspection in a number of commonly encountered inspection situations.
