Abstract
The defining relation for a two-level fractional factorial design uniquely characterizes the design. From it the design can be identified and compared, all the aliases can be found, the resolution determined, and the design can be reproduced, if necessary. Finding the generators, a necessary prerequisite to finding the defining relation for a given two-level fractional factorial design, is usually a tedious job. In this article an algebraic method is presented that simplifies this task.
