Abstract
A catalog of 105 social psychology textbooks published over the 70-year period from 1908 to 1977 was compiled. It included title of book, year of publication, publisher, author or authors, age of first author at publication, institutional affiliation of first author, presence or absence of a glossary, and number of references cited. A summary and analysis of the catalog revealed some characteristics of social psychology textbooks and of their authors and changes in such characteristics over time.
