Gerald Friedman

Gerald Friedman Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts, Gerald Friedman is the author of State-Making and Labor Movements. The United States and France, 1876–1914, Reigniting the Labor Movement: Restoring Means to Ends in a Democratic Labor Movement, and other works of labor history, economic history, and public policy. He is currently preparing an intellectual biography of Richard Ely as part of a larger study of the origins of American progressive thought.
