John R. Sheets

Father Sheets did his doctoral work under Father Karl Rahner at the University of Innsbruck Austria,from 1955 to 1957. He taught theology at Marquette University from 1957 to 1971, at which time he assumed the chairmanship of the theology department at Creighton University in Omaha. He became director of the graduate program in Christian Spirituality at Creighton in 1974, which he continues to direct to this time. He has published numerous articles in a variety of scholarly journals.
