Abstract
Descriptions of program evaluation activities in school guidance programs generally have been absent in the literature. This study, therefore, examined school counselors' activities relative to conducting evaluations. The sample was comprised of 202 school counselors, representing 33 percent of the high schools in New York State. Results of the study indicated that about 40 percent of the guidance program activities included in the questionnaire were evaluated by school counselors, although only 19 percent of the evaluations were of a formal nature. Recommendations for school counselors interested in conducting evaluations are suggested.
