Abstract
Recent developments of thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers are reviewed. The charaterizations of thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer for the type and thermal properties are discussed throuhg the use of differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing microscopy and small and wide anlge X-ray differaction. The recent workds with the order parameter, the alignment and the effects of an field of liquied crystal polymes are also described.
Some aspects for applications of the thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers are illustrated: (1)Storage or memory materials, (2)photoelastic liquid crystal, (3) immobilization of liquied crystal structure, and (4) coloured liquid crystal polymers.
