ABSTRACT
This is a somewhat biased review of the background and current state of the use of reduced density matrices (also known as quantum marginals) to convert the analysis of pair-interacting single species stationary Fermion systems to operations involving only few-particle intermediates. Emphasis is placed on bounds on low-lying energy levels in particular, and on few-particle expectations in general.
