Scattering theory of one and two-photon molecular processes

Pages 1259-1272 | Received 02 Jul 1973, Published online: 22 Aug 2006

Abstract

Using a perturbation expansion of the transition operator T, a scattering theory of one and two-photon processes is developed. Distinction is made between Franck-Condon and Herzberg-Teller effects. The influence of each effect is analysed for vibrational and electronic absorption and finally for Raman scattering.
