Classical aspects of barrier penetration

Pages 1031-1036 | Received 15 Aug 1975, Published online: 23 Aug 2006

Abstract

A classical integral representation for quadratic barrier penetration problem is derived such that the saddle points of the integrand follow either the appropriate real or complex classical trajectories. Multiply-reflected trajectories are shown to make no contribution to the exact transmission probability, in this formulation.
