Abstract

Rigorous theoretical expressions are derived for the lowest order classical moments of the far infra-red translational absorption spectrum of rare gas liquid mixtures. The theory is applied to the experimental data for Ne-Ar at 90 K. Only a qualitative comparison between theory and experiment could be carried out, because the pair and triplet distribution functions for Ne-Ar are not known accurately at small distances.
