Abstract

The recently introduced mass dependent rate theory (MDRT) predicts an anomalous increase of the diffusion constant with increasing lattice frequencies. This effect also has been found in a computer experiment simulating the ion motion in a channel model for Gramicidin A. A comparison on the basis of the channel model shows the rate theoretical predictions in qualitatively good agreement with molecular dynamics results.
