Abstract
The very weak difference bands v 11-v 4 and v 10-v 18 of the benzene molecule have been recorded by a high resolution Fourier transform spectrometer equipped with a long path absorption cell. Analysis of the spectra yielded much improved data for the Raman active states v 11 (species E1g ) and v 18(E2g ), and for the inactive B2u state v 10.
