Abstract
An analytical model is presented for thermodynamic properties of a colloidal dispersion with size and ‘charge’ polydispersities. The model is based on the mean-spherical approximation solution of the Ornstein—Zernike equation in a multicomponent hard sphere Yukawa fluid, and is used to investigate the effects of polydispersity on the isotherm behaviour of the equation of state. The characteristics of the size and charge effects are discussed.
